Subject: Camp Farragut, Idaho
Dear Mr. Kirkham,
My name is Michel L. Penrod and my Father Claude Etho Penrod Jr. was
stationed at Camp Farragut, Idaho. He was in the Navy from 1943
-1945. I have attached a couple of pictures I thought you might
be interested in as my Dad had these in his dresser.
My Father was a 2nd class machinest mate and got out in 45 with his
(Ruptured Duck) as a third class machinest mate. He served on 2
ships that I know of unless I do not have the names correct - The USS
Kit Kus, and the USS Argonne in the 7th fleet off the coast of
Australia.
My Father passed away in 1979 but raised me correct as I served in the
Army for 7.5 years and spent a year in Viet Nam and Cambodia and
several years afterwards at Fort Ord, Ca. as a Drill Instructor.
I was in the Army from 1969-1975. I received the Bronze star w/V
device and several other medals but enough about me.
I just thought you might like to see these pictures. Thank you
for your Patriotism and devotion to duty and God Bless you.
I hope they come out good enough to see.
Sincerely,
Sgt. Michel L. Penrod
